In this video, Occupational Therapist Shannon Wylie demonstrates how to use spherical inflatable therapy balls. Be sure to check out our other tutorials with Shannon about how to use the CanDo Donut balls and the peanut shaped exercise balls (Saddle Roll and Sensi-Roll).

Edited video transcript:

Now we're on a green exercise ball. The full sphere so not as much support or stability on itself, but we're going todo some exercises. Anything prone prone on the stomach is good to activate the back muscles. If you can get your hands to a weight-bearing position that's going to work on some shoulder stability and strength. Again we can use shapes or blocks we're going to do the pegs again. So just picking out or putting in or stacking the pegs and you can switch hands so shift weight from side to side and then again.

If you want that you want more of a challenge, if you have something vertically that you can reach up to put on or down. Let's go work on some extensions of the arm and the head... You can do Superman you can lift a leg behind you which is going to be a little bit more challenging and in the legs. Anything on the stomach though is good activity for core and shoulder stability.

Note: be sure to consult with an occupational physical or physical therapist on the manner that you're using these CanDo donut exercise balls if you're unsure to make sure that they're safe for both you, your caregivers, and your child and that you're using them appropriately. Also be sure that there's not a point of overuse of the product.
