New Sensory Room Attraction at Six Flags St. Louis

New Sensory Room Attraction at Six Flags St. Louis

eSpecial Needs is thrilled to contribute to the new sensory room attraction at Six Flags St. Louis. The sensory room was specifically designed to create an immersive calming experience for children and adult sensitive to the surroundings of the parks.

The space allows children and adults who are sensory sensitive to take a break from the excitement and thrills at the park that can be overstimulation at times. In this climate-controlled room there's places for them to recline in bean bag chairs, sit in tunnels, or on textured soft mats. They can regroup by watching abstract LED projections, touching the color changing marbles on the marble wall panel, listening and watching the bubbles in the bubble tube, or by pulling the curtain around them for a cozy private space. By immersing in soothing sensations through touch, sight, and sound, neurodivergent people can relax and maximize their fun experience at Six Flags.

We partnered with Public Relations Manager Elizabeth Gotway and Maintenance Director Dan Snyder to design this special space and bring it to life. As quoted by KSDK in their feature about Six Flags St. Louis's Inclusive Opening Weekend,

"We say we have something for everyone and now I think we really do," added Gotway, who got emotional when we asked how she felt about offering something many families would never have been able to experience."

Our sensory room products in this space include:

eSpecial Needs is excited to help Six Flags St. Louis have an inclusive sensory experience for autistic and neurodivergent kids and adults with this sensory room design-build. We're looking forward to collaborating with them again in the future.
