Convaid, has now extended their seat depth growth range to at least 5 inches to allow for up to five years of growth for their Rodeo, Cruiser, Cruiser Planar, EZ Rider, EZ Rider Planar, Convertible and Convertible Planar wheelchair models.

Not only does the new seat depth extension make it easier for users and dealers to get the Convaid chairs funded, but it adds years of use for end users. The additional growth and adjustment range also eliminates custom modification and allows parents or dealers to make the growth adjustment themselves. Adding growth to the chairs can be easily achieved by replacing the original set of seat tubes with a longer set that is included in the initial standard wheelchair purchase. Exception is the Rodeo, which will come with one tube that is suitable for five years of growth.

The extended seat depth growth will be a standard on the Rodeo, Cruiser, EZ Rider and Convertible wheelchair models for each order after September 17. The current order forms are still okay to use.

Benefits include:

  • Adds 5 years of growth
  • No price increase in chairs
  • Growth is standard on each model
  • Chairs comply with funding requirements for HCPS codes
  • Each chair includes the correct anatomical growth range based on hip width

A complete set of instructions will be shipped with each chair. For more details on the seat depth growth and the correct way to modify the chair, please click on the link to download a flyer. This flyer also includes the most frequently asked questions and answers regarding this update.
